bornhardt — “born—heart”
n. A dome-shaped, steep-sided bald rock outcropping.
n. A typeface.
Bornhardt was created in the space of two weeks as part of a university assignment — I was given a small questionnaire, filled in by a random anonymous classmate of mine. I was tasked with drawing a typeface to reflect the personality traits I could learn from that questionnaire.
Over the following week, forms began to take shape. The subject’s affinity for tabloid news defined Bornhardt’s clunky extreme width, while hints of a softer, naïve side in their music taste and self-deprecating comments became the delicate narrow strokes, and almost flimsy junctions.
